BEGLEY, Herman age 81 of Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Hospice Center at Dayton VA Medical Center with his family by his side. Born February 19, 1936 in Christopher, Kentucky, Herman was the son of Harlen and Mary (nee Allen) Begley and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Herman was retired from the U.S. Army and Navy then retired again as a Maintenance Operation Support Clerk from the U.S. Postal Service. Herman enjoyed music, playing cards and attending church at Westside Church of Christ in Lebanon, Ohio. He was a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of DAV and a volunteer at the Lebanon Food Pantry. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Shirley Lykins; Herman leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years Nola (nee Smith) Begley of Lebanon, Ohio; sons Harlen Jack Begley of Lebanon, Ohio and Donald (Michelle) Begley of Fairfield, Ohio; sister Wilma Jean Campbell of Kentucky and grandchildren Tiffany Ann Faith Begley and Brenna Dawn Joy Begley.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 11am until 12pm at the Westside Church of Christ, 1000 Franklin Road, Lebanon, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at the church at 12pm with Reverend Michael Dawson officiating, Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Heritage Hills Memorial Park, Springboro, Ohio.
